Ross loves: This house to me is the perfect family home for those who want to enjoy the great outdoors. The house offers more than enough space for a growing family and even space for parents working from home. Beyond this however, the gardens are magical and perfect for young children to explore, or utilise the direct access onto the Coast Path and enjoy the many woodland walks! Not to mention the jaw dropping views towards Porlock Bay, which are enjoyed from many a vantage point in the elevated terraced garden.

The owners love: "Living at Netherwood has been a joy. Discovering the possibilities the house has to offer, the incredible plants in the garden and the walks instantly accessible in the woods behind has been constantly surprising and satisfying. It’s been a fabulous place for the children, there is so much to explore - and that’s without ever leaving the property!

Netherwood is spacious enough that we don’t get under each others’ feet but cozy enough to snuggle up in on a cold winter’s night by the fire. I’ve loved developing the house into a home and the garden into a more manageable family space while still leaving room for play and wilderness as well. The location is great too; Porlock Weir and Porlock are walking distance (even for little legs) and we shall miss sea swimming and paddleboarding practically on our doorstep.

I love the stunning sea views across Porlock bay and I’ll miss the constantly changing seasons on the marshes and woodland right outside."

The cellar has been upgraded and enjoys both an internal staircase connecting it to the main accommodation along with an external door opening to the courtyard. The owners have utilised this space as a games room/music room and bar, though it could be used for a variety of other purposes including a secluded home office or home gym.

The enchanting gardens are a particular feature having originally been designed by Edward Percival, a plantsman who was able to import unique and rare specimen trees and shrubs from all over the world due to the unusual microclimate of this stretch of the coast. Since its initial creation, the garden has been further enhanced and rearranged by the current and past owners of Netherwood House. A stream meanders through the gardens and there are an array of secret pathways to explore, leading to different vantage points to enjoy the outstanding vistas.
