This house in particular is unique as it boasts a longer than average rear garden, which becomes a sea of colour in the spring and summer whilst enjoying a large garden studio - perfect for an artist a home office or just a wonderful garden room. I can't not mention the location, set just a stones' throw from the beach, harbour, shops, galleries, restaurants and everything else the quaint harbour town of Watchet has to offer!

The Vendor Loves: Why leave this fabulous house you may ask, circumstances dictate a move. Three wonderful years we’ve worked our magic to restore this wonderful Victorian House into the home it deserved to be. A very happy home indeed with its spacious rooms and character. Victorian features with a hint of today go hand in hand to give a home that wraps you in its warmth and style. A glorious garden that looks and smells divine whilst sitting and enjoying the harbour views is the cherry on the top. Two minutes walk and you’re on the beach or harbour, the ancient town oozes charm with friendly faces, cafes, restaurants, bars and galleries.. not forgetting the fabulous events that are a part of Watchet life.

The accommodation in brief comprises, welcoming entrance vestibule bathed in colours from the stained glass windows, entrance hall with stairs to the first floor and opening to the bespoke hand painted kitchen with oak worktops over and space for a range style cooker. A cleverly disguised pocket door opens into the spacious yet cosy lounge boasting a feature fireplace with inset wood burning stove. Beautiful herringbone oak floor flows through the hall, kitchen and lounge. Beyond the kitchen is a recently created utility room with laundry cupboard and downstairs WC. French doors open onto the rear garden. On the first floor are two substantial double bedrooms together with a period styled shower room. The second floor is home to the delightful master bedroom (which enjoys views out to the channel) and bedroom four which the owners had planned to convert in to an en suite and dressing room, all of the plumbing is discreetly in situ if someone wants to complete the project, if not, the room can remain a bedroom. A new staircase has been formed into the loft space, of which the floor has been boarded and the underside of the roof insulated, as the owners had planned to create a loft room/den for their grandchildren! Alternatively would make a great reading snug or office space with the addition of skylights to enjoy the glorious roof top views of the coast. In addition to the loft and utility works, the owners have also recently installed beautiful bespoke plantation shutters to the principal rooms.

Watchet

Fact: Watchet really came to prominence in the Saxon period and was important enough to have its own mint established in 1035. Coins minted in Watchet have been found in Scandinavia, suggesting that they were used to buy off Viking raiders!

Watchet is a historic harbour town, the original settlement believed to date from the Iron Age! The town is home to the recently completed East Quay development which is a cultural hotspot with a gallery, several artist studios, education space, a restaurant and even unique accommodation pods! The town and harbour are lined with quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants, where you can enjoy a meal or browse for unique souvenirs. Dive into the town's past at the Watchet Museum offering an array of exhibits, including displays on the local geology, maritime history, and the town's connections to the Industrial Revolution.
